Q: Hey Jessica, why haven’t you been posting much lately? Isn’t there tons of sketchbook pages and new work to show?

A: Totally! Of course! I have 20+ moleskine images to post, and a comic to finish. HOWEVER, I’ve recently started working with the Chelsea River Gallery, building a social media presence & doing general website updates/maintenance — so it’s been taking me a few days to transition into the new schedule.

In the meantime, here’s some mostly work-centric instagramming to tide you over. <3

Taking a small no-computer sabbatical before I do huge amounts of social media and networking and brochure design this week and basically glue myself to a laptop.

Instagram roundup from last week!

Worked like a total maniac and basically made myself into an art shut-in til Friday, excepting my usual freelancing lunch with Amber; accidentally dyed hair brown then neon red (kept the neon), and drove to Detroit a few times per usual for client-y things..

..then printed 4.5 foot prints of two of my tarot cards (which I will be soon reselling! stay tuned), drove to Flint for the Art Walk — which was lovely! Got back at some insane hour of night, and then stayed up til dawn skypin with Max and Shaheed (who seems to have killed his blog, alas) and others. Fell asleep for a bit, then drove out waaay into the ‘burbs for my friend Eeni’s 25th birthday celebration on Saturday evening.

Stayed up til dawn again, painted a bit (hello, White Detroit Guy..) and took care of some leftover design touchups, slept for most of the day, and then was invited over to Daniela’s for dinner and some good collaborative work time.

WHEW.

This week’s just as busy, but at least I’ve planned time to sleep this time around — sort of?!

Sloppy color testing on some pieces I’m doing for the alumni show. I was mostly on the phone while doing these, I think it helped me not overthink things? I have two more I want to do in the same style, maybe I’ll get them done ahead of time for once :D
